ここのところ快晴の日が多い。日本海側では大雪が降っているそうなのだが、関東南部は連日雲一つない快晴だ。

今日もそんな気持ちの良い冬晴れ。

一応8時ごろ起きた。今日はどこへ行こうか。暖冬とはいえ、山間部はさすがに凍りつくような寒さだろうな。（でも去年この時期に道志みち〜山中湖を走ったんだっけ･･･。要は怠け者の言い訳かー。）ていうか正直輪行で遠征するほどモチベーションが高くない。一般道を走るのも何か面倒くさいし･･･また多摩川CRか！！

結局そこに落ち着く。でも今日はいつもより少し距離を走るかな。そう決めてからもまた眠気が襲ってきて二度寝の誘惑にかられた。とにかく着替えてしまえ！！

さっさと着替えを済ませ外へ出る。うう･･寒ぃじゃねーか。さっき天気予報で今日もポカポカとか言ってなかったか？寒くてきついのは特に手と顔だよな、やっぱり。まあ10分そこらであったまってくるだろう。

しかし天気が良い。サングラス越しに真っ青な空が見える。

二子橋から多摩川CRに入る。バーベキュー客用の駐車場へと続く短い坂道を下りきったところで左折して本線に合流だ。今日は武蔵五日市を目指すことにする。福生の睦橋まで多摩川CRを進み、そこから一般道を進む予定だ。

スピードが乗ってこない。時速20km/hを切ったり切らなかったり。向かい風を受けているのかな？でもそれほど顔に当たる風は感じられない。おかしいな。2週間走ってなかったとはいえ、そんなになまるかな？

結局なまっていたらしい。ギアを重くして少し気合を入れてこぐ。そうすると24〜25km/hまで速度がアップ。でもすごい疲れる。はぁ〜。オレを抜いていくローディは余裕でシャカシャカこいでいるがそれでも相当のスピードが出ている。ま、彼らの脚を見ると筋肉がすごいので、ロードと（オレの乗っている）シクロの性能の差というよりも、実力の差だなこりゃ。

それでも登戸〜調布間のCRが整備された区間に入ると足取りが軽くなる。ここを走っているときは一流のロードレーサーになったつもりなのだ（笑）。

今日は富士山がきれいだ。CRの左手に見え隠れしている。真っ白に雪化粧されたその姿がまわりの青空に映える。川原には三脚を構えた本格的なカメラマンがシャッターを切っている姿も見られる。

程なくY's Bike Parkに到着。しかし今日はまだ先へ進むのでY'sには立ち寄らず、隣接するセブンイレブンでカロリー補給を手早く済ませると出発。

Y'sを過ぎてしばらく行くと多摩川CRはいったん途切れる。ここからは一瞬だけ一般道を使って日野橋、立日橋方面に抜けるのだ。このエリアまで来たのも久しぶりな気がする。

古びた神社の前や、ひっそりとした民家の裏を抜け、立川陸上競技場の裏手に出る。短い吊り橋を渡り、陸上競技場のスタンドの裏側を走る。草むらに囲まれたこの道は晴れている日は気持ちよい。短い登り坂を登ったらふいに大きな道路（橋）をまたいでいることに気付く。振り返ってみるとこれが日野橋であり甲州街道なのであった。

ここら辺りまで来るとだいぶ川原の景色も変わってくる。遠くに見える富士山は相変わらずだが、奥多摩の山々もかなり近くに見えることに気付く。

日野橋から立日橋まではあっという間だ。立日橋のところで支流を一本越えて再び多摩川CRに合流。ここからしばらくは整備されたCRが消え、走る場所は土手の上ではなく、土手の下の芝生の道の間に敷設された道になるのだ。少年野球や芝生で遊ぶ子供達を見ながら走る。

JR中央線の橋と富士山が重なって見える場所があり、いい構図かななんて思っていたら三脚を持ったカメラマンを発見。やっぱり。しばらく自転車を停め電車が来るのを待って撮影。

しばらく進む。川原の雰囲気がさらに変わってきた。上流らしく水流が少なく、川幅が狭くなったきた。周りにも草木が増えてきた。

ここで自転車トラブル発生。「ギア落ち」とでも言おうか、自転車をこいでいると、急に「ガチャ」といってリアがトップ側に滑るのだ。一瞬ペダルから足が離れそうになって怖い。なんだかなぁ。

実はちょっと心当たりがある。以前、フロント側のチェーンカバーに接触音がすることがあって、それを解決しようと、「ストローク調整」というのを見よう見まねでやったのだ。

要はシフトする時の強さの調整なのだが、どうも、これは結構慎重な作業が必要だったようなのだが、おもむろにドライバーでグルグルとねじを回してしまった。

後で本を読んだらこういうやりかたは最悪らしい。「もとの状態に戻せるように、半回転ずつ記憶しながら回すように」･･･だって。まあ、また一からやり直してみるか。

睦橋に到着し、橋を渡ったところで「ガチャ」。またギア落ち。もう今日はここまでだな。不本意ながらも引き返す。でもこれが結果としては良かった。なぜなら、バテたから･･･。

60kmを過ぎたあたりから明らかに脚の様子がおかしい。ま帰りはずっと向かい風だったことはあるにしても、この距離で脚が売り切れるとは相当なまってんな〜〜〜。久々にこの倦怠感を感じる。あーもう早く家に帰りてー。こんな時に限って向かい風が強いこと！バテバテだぁ。腹が減ったせいもあるかな。

フラフラになりながら帰宅。もう少し乗る機会を増やすことが大事だな〜と実感した今日のランでした。
